TL;DR
This paper analyzes how to achieve high top quark polarization at a polarized linear e^+ e^- collider, emphasizing optimal beam polarization configurations and presenting NLO QCD results.
Contribution
It demonstrates that near-maximal top quark polarization can be achieved with specific beam polarizations and identifies the most stable polarization configuration.
Findings
High top polarization achievable with certain beam polarizations
Optimal polarization configuration is stable against variations
Quantitative results obtained at NLO QCD
Abstract
We discuss the polarization of top quarks produced at a polarized linear e^+ e^- collider. Close-to-maximal values of the top quark polarization can be achieved with longitudinal beam polarizations (h_- = -0.80, h_+ = +0.625) or (h_- = +0.80, h_+ = -0.625) at intermediate beam energies. The option (h_- = -0.80, h_+ = +0.625) has to be preferred since this choice is quite stable against variations of the beam polarization. All our quantitative results have been obtained at NLO QCD.
