Confined plasmonic modes in a nanocavity
Aurore Castani\'e, Didier Felbacq

TL;DR
This paper investigates how confinement affects surface plasmon polaritons in a nanocavity, revealing the formation of generalized modes from strong coupling between plasmon-like and photon-like modes.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed analysis of generalized plasmonic modes in nanocavities resulting from strong mode coupling.
Findings
Identification of generalized modes due to confinement
Demonstration of strong coupling between plasmon-like and photon-like modes
Detailed characterization of mode behavior in nanocavities
Abstract
The effect of confinement on surface plasmon polariton in a planar nanocavity was studied. The generalized modes were obtained and studied in detail. It was demonstrated that these modes result from the strong coupling of plasmon-like and photon-like modes.
