R. Navarro Perez, J.E. Amaro, E. Ruiz Arriola

TL;DR
This paper introduces a coarse graining method for nucleon-nucleon interactions in coordinate space, simplifying the potential by sampling at minimal wavelengths and combining delta-shell and OPE potentials, aiming to ease many-body nuclear calculations.
Contribution
It presents a novel coarse graining approach for NN interactions that simplifies the potential while retaining essential physics, inspired by the Vlowk method.
Findings
Potential simplified to delta-shell plus OPE above 2 fm
Discussion of computational simplifications in nuclear many-body problems
Sampling at minimal de Broglie wavelength for effective interaction modeling
Abstract
We consider a coarse graining of NN interactions in coordinate space very much in the spirit of the well known Vlowk approach. To this end we sample the interaction at about the minimal de Broglie wavelength probed by NN scattering below pion production threshold. This amounts to provide a simple delta-shell potential plus the standard OPE potential above 2 fm. The possible simplifications in the Nuclear many body problem are discussed.
