Updated Search for B(s) -> mu+mu- at CDF
Thomas Kuhr (for the CDF Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports an updated search for the rare decay Bs -> mu+mu- at CDF, highlighting a modest excess over background that aligns with Standard Model predictions and other experiments.
Contribution
It provides the latest results from CDF on Bs -> mu+mu- decay, including an updated analysis with potential hints of new physics.
Findings
Modest excess observed over background expectation.
Results are consistent with Standard Model predictions.
Provides updated limits and analysis techniques.
Abstract
The decay Bs -> mu+mu- is very sensitive to contributions from new physics processes. Thus the Tevatron and LHC experiments are hunting for an observation of a Bs -> mu+mu- signal. In this article the updated search for Bs -> mu+mu- and B0 -> mu+mu- by the CDF experiment is presented. The CDF result was received with great interest because an excess over the background expectation is seen, although of modest statistical significance and still consistent with the prediction of a standard model signal and other experimental results.
