Cai-Dian L\"u, Wei Wang

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the resonant contributions in the decay process ar{B}^0 K^- with a focus on higher kaon resonances, deriving angular distributions and exploring the signatures of specific resonances like K^*_2(1430).
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive analysis of higher kaon resonances in ar{B}^0 decays, including width effects and angular distributions, and suggests methods to reduce form factor uncertainties.
Findings
K^*_2(1430) shows a clear signature in transverse polarizations.
Derived angular distributions for the full decay process.
Proposed measurements to constrain B K^*_J form factors.
Abstract
We study the resonant contributions in the process with the invariant mass square . Width effects of the involved strange mesons, and , are incorporated. In terms of the helicity amplitudes, we derive a compact form for the full angular distributions, through which the branching ratios, forward-backward asymmetries and polarizations are attained. We propose that the uncertainties in the form factors can be pinned down by the measurements of a set of SU(3)-related processes. Using results from the large energy limit, we derive the dependence of branching fractions on the , and find that the resonance has a clear signature, in particular, in the transverse polarizations.
