Bernard Hoop, Gerald M. Hale, Petr Navratil

TL;DR
This paper investigates the resonant scattering of neutrons with helium-4 at the d-3H threshold, revealing a two-pole S-matrix structure and precise resonance parameters through speed plot and time delay analysis.
Contribution
It provides new detailed resonance parameters and confirms the two-pole structure of the lowest 3/2+ level in 5He using advanced analysis methods.
Findings
Confirmed two-pole S-matrix structure of 5He resonance
Determined resonance energies with high precision
Estimated partial widths of neutron and deuteron channels
Abstract
Speed plot and time delay analysis confirms a two-pole S-matrix structure of the lowest 3/2+ level in 5He. Real parts of neutron-alpha elastic and 4He(n,d)3H reaction pole energies are 17.669+/-0.006 and 17.705+/-0.001 MeV n-4He c.m., respectively. Neutron-alpha elastic resonance, uncorrected for experimental energy spread, is characterized by deuteron and neutron partial widths ca. 0.008 and 0.030 MeV suggested by previous time delay analysis.
