Fine Structure of String Spectrum in AdS(5)xS(5)
K. Zarembo, S. Zieme

TL;DR
This paper investigates the detailed structure of the string spectrum in AdS(5)xS(5), revealing that interactions in the sigma-model cause discrepancies with gauge theory predictions even at strong coupling.
Contribution
It demonstrates that string interactions in the sigma-model are essential for accurately matching the spectrum with gauge theory, challenging previous assumptions of negligible interactions at large coupling.
Findings
Interactions in the string sigma-model cause spectrum mismatches.
Neglecting interactions leads to incomplete spectrum descriptions.
Strong coupling regime still requires considering string interactions.
Abstract
The spectrum of an infinite spinning string in AdS(5) does not precisely match the spectrum of dual gauge theory operators, interpolated to the strong coupling regime with the help of Bethe-ansatz equations. We show that the mismatch is due to interactions in the string sigma-model which cannot be neglected even at asymptotically large 't Hooft coupling.
