SU(3) phase states and finite Fourier transform
Brandon Zanette, Hubert de Guise

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel method for constructing SU(3) phase operators using a Fourier-like transform on a hexagonal lattice, comparing its benefits and drawbacks with traditional polar decomposition techniques.
Contribution
It presents a new approach to defining SU(3) phase operators via finite Fourier transforms on a hexagonal lattice, offering insights into its advantages and limitations.
Findings
The Fourier-like transform approach provides a different perspective on SU(3) phase operators.
Comparison shows trade-offs between this method and polar decomposition.
Highlights potential applications and limitations of the new construction.
Abstract
We describe the construction of SU(3) phase operators using Fourier-like transform on a hexagonal lattice. The advantages and disadvantages of this approach are contrasted with other results, in particular with the more traditional approach based on polar decomposition of operators.
