TL;DR
The paper reports initial measurements from the TOTEM experiment at the LHC, including total, elastic, and inelastic proton-proton cross-sections at 7 TeV, along with preliminary forward charged particle distribution data.
Contribution
First experimental results from TOTEM at 7 TeV, providing key measurements of proton-proton interactions and forward particle distributions at the LHC.
Findings
Total, elastic, and inelastic pp cross-sections measured at 7 TeV
Preliminary forward charged particle η distribution obtained
Results contribute to understanding proton interactions at high energies
Abstract
The first physics results from the TOTEM experiment are here reported, concerning the measurements of the total, differential elastic, elastic and inelastic pp cross-section at the LHC energy of = 7 TeV, obtained using the luminosity measurement from CMS. A preliminary measurement of the forward charged particle distribution is also shown.
