Jun He, Zhen Ouyang, Xiang Liu, Xue-Qian Li

TL;DR
This paper estimates the production rate of the charmed baryon mbda_c(2940)^+ at PANDA, predicting event yields for different spin-parity assignments and analyzing potential backgrounds to aid in its identification.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed estimates of mbda_c(2940)^+ production rates at PANDA for various quantum number assignments and explores background processes for experimental identification.
Findings
Estimated mbda_c(2940)^+ production cross sections exceeding 1 nb.
Predicted event rates of up to 10^8 per day for certain quantum states.
Analyzed background processes to assist in experimental detection.
Abstract
In this work we evaluate the production rate of the charmed baryon at PANDA. For possible assignments of : , and , the total cross section of is estimated, which may exceed 1 nb. With the designed luminosity (cm/s) of PANDA, our estimate indicates that ten thousand events per day if is of or per day if it is of can be expected. Those values actually set the lower and upper limits of the production. In addition, we present the Dalitz plot and carry out a rough background analysis of the production in the and processes, which would provide valuable information for…
