TL;DR
This paper reports the measurement of the top quark pair production cross section at 7 TeV using ATLAS data, confirming consistency with Standard Model predictions through various event topologies.
Contribution
First measurement of the top pair production cross section at 7 TeV with detailed analysis of different event topologies using ATLAS data.
Findings
Measured cross section: 176 pb with uncertainties
Results agree with Standard Model predictions
Used multiple event selection channels
Abstract
We present the measurement of the production cross section for top quark pair () in pp collisions at = 7 TeV using the data recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Events are selected in single lepton (electron or muon) and dilepton (, , ) topologies with multi-jets, and large missing transverse energy (MET). The combined result from these measurements is = , which is in good agreement with the Standard Model prediction.
