Holographic helical superconductors
Aristomenis Donos, Jerome P. Gauntlett

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that five-dimensional charged AdS black branes can develop instabilities leading to spatially modulated helical p-wave superconducting phases, with implications for higher-dimensional supergravity theories.
Contribution
It reveals the existence of helical p-wave superconducting instabilities in charged AdS black branes within supergravity frameworks, extending understanding of holographic superconductors.
Findings
Instabilities found in D=5 charged AdS black branes.
Instabilities linked to spatially modulated helical p-wave superconductors.
Results applicable within N=4 supergravity and higher-dimensional theories.
Abstract
We show that D=5 electrically charged AdS black branes can have instabilities associated with spatially modulated p-wave superconductors with helical structure. We show that the instabilities are present within N=4 gauged supergravity and hence within D=10 and D=11 supergravity.
