Dwueng-Chwuan Jhwueng, Vasileios Maroulas

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new method for estimating regression curves in phylogenetic studies using Ornstein-Uhlenbeck models, combining generalized least-squares and optimization, and applies it to ecological data.
Contribution
It presents a novel algorithm for estimating Ornstein-Uhlenbeck regression curves, integrating generalized least-squares with optimization techniques.
Findings
Algorithm successfully applied to ecological data
Provides improved estimation of trait relationships
Enhances understanding of adaptive evolution models
Abstract
Regression curves for studying trait relationships are developed herein. The adaptive evolution model is considered an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck system whose parameters are estimated by a novel engagement of generalized least-squares and optimization. Our algorithm is implemented to ecological data.
