Current status of the T2K experiment
Yuichi Oyama (on behalf of the T2K collaboration)

TL;DR
The T2K experiment has observed initial indications of electron neutrino appearance, suggesting a non-zero value of , marking a significant step in neutrino oscillation research.
Contribution
This paper reports the first evidence of from the T2K experiment, indicating a non-zero , based on initial data analysis.
Findings
Observation of 6 candidates
Expected background of 1.5.3 events
Significance level of 2.51
Abstract
The T2K long-baseline neutrino-oscillationexperiment was started in January 2010 for the purpose of physics data-taking. Until the massive earthquake on March 11, 2011 in Japan, pot data were accumulated. In this data, 6 possible appearance candidates are found forexpected background of 1.50.3(syst.)if is assumed. The probability that 6 or more events can be observed for1.50.3 expected events is 7,equivalent to 2.5 significance. This is the first indication of a appearance or, in other words, the first indication of a non-zero .
