Identity for the DFT correlation functional
Daniel P. Joubert

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates a fundamental equation linking N-electron and (N-1)-electron densities within the DFT correlation functional, providing new insights into electron correlation.
Contribution
It introduces a novel equation connecting electron densities of different electron counts within the same scaled Hamiltonian in DFT.
Findings
Establishes a new relationship between N-electron and (N-1)-electron densities.
Provides theoretical foundation for improved correlation functionals.
Enhances understanding of electron correlation in density functional theory.
Abstract
It is shown that the electron density functional correlation functional satisfies an equation that links the N-electron and (N-1)-electron densities of the same adiabatically scaled Hamiltonian of the interacting electron system.
