Piotr Lebiedowicz, Roman Pasechnik, Antoni Szczurek

TL;DR
This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the exclusive production of the scalar _{c}(0^{+}) meson in high-energy hadron collisions, focusing on the _{c0} decay channel and background processes.
Contribution
The study develops a detailed $k_{t}$-factorization model for _{c0} production, including absorption effects and background estimation, providing predictions for experimental measurements.
Findings
Calculated differential distributions for _{c0} production.
Quantified the impact of kinematic cuts on signal-to-background ratio.
Included absorption effects and background processes in the theoretical framework.
Abstract
We report on the results of a theoretical study of the central exclusive production of scalar meson via decay in high-energy hadron collisions at the RHIC, Tevatron and LHC. The corresponding amplitude for exclusive double-diffractive meson production was obtained within the -factorization approach including virtualities of active gluons and the cross section is calculated with unintegrated gluon distribution functions (UGDFs) known from the literature. The four-body reaction constitutes an irreducible background to the exclusive meson production. We include the absorption effects due to proton-proton interaction and pion-pion rescattering. Several differential distributions for process, including the absorptive corrections, were calculated.…
