Using LHC as injector and possible uses of HERA magnets/coils
K.H. Mess (CERN)

TL;DR
This paper explores the potential of repurposing the LHC and HERA magnets and coils for a high-energy LHC upgrade, considering decommissioning and recycling options for existing infrastructure.
Contribution
It presents a detailed analysis of using existing LHC and HERA magnets and coils for a new high-energy collider in the LHC tunnel, proposing innovative reuse strategies.
Findings
Feasibility of repurposing LHC magnets for high-energy applications
Potential uses of HERA magnets in future collider setups
Strategies for recycling existing accelerator components
Abstract
This workshop discusses the various aspects of a high energy version of the LHC in the LHC tunnel, the basic assumption being that the LHC will be decommissioned. The possibilities to recycle LHC and the already stopped HERA are discussed in this paper.
