Creating quantum discord through local generalized amplitude damping
Jianwei Xu

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that local generalized amplitude damping channels can generate quantum discord from classical states of two qubits, with high temperature acting as an impediment to this process.
Contribution
It reveals a novel method for creating quantum discord using local noise channels, highlighting the role of temperature in this process.
Findings
Quantum discord can be generated from classical states via local damping.
High temperature reduces the ability to create quantum discord.
Local generalized amplitude damping can induce quantum correlations.
Abstract
We show that two qubits initially in completely classical state can create quantum discord through a local generalized amplitude damping channel, but high temperature will impede the creating of quantum discord.
