Sources of log canonical centers
J\'anos Koll\'ar (Princeton Univ)

TL;DR
This paper introduces the concepts of 'source' and 'spring' of log canonical centers to address higher-codimension adjunction problems, facilitating the construction of semi log canonical pairs.
Contribution
It defines new notions of 'source' and 'spring' for log canonical centers, advancing the understanding of higher-codimension adjunction and aiding in semi log canonical pair construction.
Findings
Defined 'source' and 'spring' for log canonical centers
Solved problems in higher-codimension adjunction
Constructed semi log canonical pairs
Abstract
We define the "source" and the "spring" of a log canonical center and use them to solve several problems in higher-codimension adjunction. The main application is to the construction of semi log canonical pairs. Version 2: References updated. Version 3: Many small changes.
