Maciej Trzebinski, Rafal Staszewski, Janusz Chwastowski

TL;DR
This paper details methods for transporting and unfolding scattered proton data in high beta* runs at the LHC, improving the accuracy of kinematic variable reconstruction through a parametrisation of proton transport.
Contribution
It introduces a new parametrisation approach for proton transport and discusses unfolding accuracy, enhancing data analysis in high beta* LHC runs.
Findings
Transport parametrisation achieves high accuracy.
Unfolding methods improve kinematic variable reconstruction.
Enhanced analysis capabilities for high beta* runs.
Abstract
The paper describes the transport of the elastically and diffractively scattered protons in the proton-proton interactions at the LHC for the high beta* runs. A parametrisation of the attered proton transport through the LHC magnetic lattice is presented. The accuracy of the unfolding of the kinematic variables of the scattered protons is discussed.
