Thermopower with broken time-reversal symmetry
Keiji Saito, Giuliano Benenti, Giulio Casati, Tomaz Prosen

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that non-unitary noise effects cause thermopower to become asymmetric under magnetic field reversal, even in non-interacting systems, with analysis based on a three-dot ring structure with Aharonov-Bohm flux.
Contribution
It reveals the impact of non-unitary noise on thermopower symmetry, extending understanding beyond idealized models.
Findings
Thermopower becomes asymmetric under magnetic field reversal due to noise.
The effect is demonstrated in a three-dot ring with Aharonov-Bohm flux.
Non-interacting systems are affected by this asymmetry.
Abstract
We show that when non-unitary noise effects are taken into account the thermopower is in general asymmetric under magnetic field reversal, even for non-interacting systems. Our findings are illustrated in the example of a three-dot ring structure pierced by an Aharonov-Bohm flux.
