Sensitivity of Cross Sections for Elastic Nucleus-Nucleus Scattering to Halo Nucleus Density Distributions
G.D.Alkhazov, V.V.Sarantsev

TL;DR
This paper investigates how elastic scattering cross sections of halo nuclei like $^6$He and $^{11}$Li are affected by their nuclear matter density distributions, using calculations at high energy to understand their structure.
Contribution
It introduces a systematic analysis of the sensitivity of elastic scattering cross sections to different assumed density distributions of halo nuclei.
Findings
Cross sections vary significantly with different density models.
Elastic scattering can serve as a probe for halo nuclear structure.
Results help refine models of exotic nuclear matter distributions.
Abstract
In order to clear up the sensitivity of the nucleus-nucleus scattering to the nuclear matter distributions of exotic halo nuclei, we have calculated differential cross sections for elastic scattering of the He and Li nuclei on several nuclear targets at the energy of 0.8 GeV/nucleon with different assumed nuclear density distributions in He and Li.
