Jie Zhao (for the STAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports the first dielectron measurements at 200 GeV in p + p and Au + Au collisions, comparing results to models to investigate in-medium modifications and quark-gluon plasma radiation.
Contribution
It provides the first STAR dielectron data at this energy, analyzing vector meson modifications and thermal radiation in heavy-ion collisions.
Findings
Comparison with hadron decay cocktails shows potential in-medium modifications.
Evidence of thermal radiation from quark-gluon plasma in intermediate mass region.
Analysis of omega to electron-positron spectra and transverse mass distributions.
Abstract
We present the first STAR dielectron measurement in 200 GeV p + p and Au + Au collisions. Results are compared to hadron decay cocktails to search for vector meson in-medium modification in low mass region and quark gluon plasma thermal radiation in the intermediate mass region. The spectra and the transverse mass distribution in the intermediate mass region are also discussed.
