$\chi_{cJ}$ production associated with a $c\bar c$ pair at hadron colliders
Dan Li, Yan-Qing Ma, Kuang-Ta Chao

TL;DR
This paper calculates the associated production of $ ext{chi}_{cJ}$ with a charm quark pair at hadron colliders, revealing the dominance of color-octet contributions at high transverse momentum and implications for experimental measurements.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed calculation of $ ext{chi}_{cJ}$ plus charm pair production in nonrelativistic QCD, highlighting the significance of color-octet mechanisms and their impact on collider observables.
Findings
Color-octet contribution may dominate at high $p_T$.
The differential cross section is much smaller than inclusive $ ext{chi}_c$ production.
Feeddown from $ ext{chi}_{cJ}+c+ar{c}$ significantly affects $J/ extpsi$ measurements.
Abstract
(J=0,1,2) production associated with a charm quark pair in hadron collisions is calculated in the framework of nonrelativistic QCD at the Tevatron and LHC. It is found that the color-singlet contribution is small and the color-octet contribution may be dominant in the large region. The differential cross section of is at least one order of magnitude smaller than the next-to-leading order result of inclusive production , therefore production in may have negligible influence on the ratio measured by CDF at the Tevatron. The feeddown contribution from to is found to be large compared with direct production and may have important influence on the measurement of…
