Ee Chang-Young, Kyoungtae Kimm, and Daeho Lee

TL;DR
This paper explores the derivation of Brans-Dicke gravity using entropic principles, applying Verlinde's formalism in the Einstein frame and transforming to the Jordan frame to obtain the equations of motion.
Contribution
It provides a novel entropic derivation of Brans-Dicke gravity by connecting Verlinde's formalism with conformal transformations between frames.
Findings
Successfully derived Brans-Dicke equations from entropic principles.
Established the connection between Einstein and Jordan frames via conformal transformation.
Extended entropic gravity concepts to scalar-tensor theories.
Abstract
We interpret the Brans-Dicke gravity from entropic viewpoint. We first apply the Verlinde's entropic formalism in the Einstein frame, then perform the conformal transformation which connects the Einstein frame to the Jordan frame. The transformed result yields the equation of motion of the Brans-Dicke theory in the Jordan frame.
