TL;DR
This paper investigates the ground state configurations of a binary Bose-Einstein condensate mixture confined in generic potentials using the Thomas-Fermi approximation, considering fixed particle numbers and chemical potentials.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive analysis of the ground states of binary condensates in arbitrary confining potentials within the Thomas-Fermi framework.
Findings
Characterization of ground state configurations in generic potentials
Comparison between fixed particle number and fixed chemical potential scenarios
Analytical insights into phase separation and coexistence regimes
Abstract
We study a binary mixture of Bose-Einstein condensates, confined in a generic potential, in the Thomas-Fermi approximation. We search for the zero-temperature ground state of the system, both in the case of fixed numbers of particles and fixed chemical potentials.
