M. Avrigeanu, V. Avrigeanu

TL;DR
This paper critiques previous model analyses of reaction cross sections involving 45Sc and various projectiles, emphasizing the need to include direct processes for accurate results.
Contribution
It highlights discrepancies in existing model analyses and proposes the importance of accounting for direct processes in reaction cross section calculations.
Findings
Model analysis results are inconsistent with evaluated data.
Including direct processes improves the accuracy of reaction cross section models.
Highlights the need for correction in existing nuclear reaction models.
Abstract
We show that the model analysis of new measured (d,p), (d,t), (6He,5He), and (6He,4He) reaction cross sections at incident energies around the Coulomb barrier (J. Phys. G: Nucl. Part. Phys. 38 (2011) 035106) led to results that are not consistent with similar calculated and evaluated data. On the other hand, it should be corrected by taking into account the direct processes.
