Meissner effect in the layered Kane-Mele model with Hubbard interaction
Jun Goryo, Nobuki Maeda

TL;DR
This paper explores the magnetic properties of the layered Kane-Mele model with Hubbard interaction, identifying conditions for the Meissner effect and discussing the influence of Rashba spin orbit coupling.
Contribution
It introduces a new analysis of the Meissner effect in a topological insulator model with electron interactions and spin-orbit coupling effects.
Findings
Identifies conditions for the Meissner effect in the model
Analyzes the impact of Rashba spin orbit coupling
Provides insights into magnetic responses in topological phases
Abstract
We investigate the magnetic response in the quantum spin Hall phase of the layered Kane-Mele model with Hubbard interaction, and argue a condition to obtain the Meissner effect. The effect of Rashba spin orbit coupling is also discussed.
