Polarization Limits in K-Rb Spin-Exchange Mixtures
Brian Lancor, Thad G. Walker

TL;DR
This paper investigates the limits of polarization in K-Rb spin-exchange mixtures by measuring optical absorption in K vapor with high-pressure He gas, informing the maximum achievable polarization in hybrid optical pumping.
Contribution
It provides experimental measurements that establish polarization limits in K-Rb mixtures under high-pressure helium conditions, advancing understanding of spin-exchange optical pumping.
Findings
Set a polarization limit in hybrid spin-exchange optical pumping.
Measured optical absorption of K vapor at 795 nm with high-pressure He.
Identified constraints on polarization attainable in the system.
Abstract
We present measurements of the optical absorption of K vapor at 795 nm due to the presence of high pressure He gas. The results set a limit on the polarization attainable in hybrid spin-exchange optical pumping of He-3.
