TL;DR
This paper presents a next-to-leading order analysis of heavy-quark contributions to the proton structure function F2 at small x, providing compact formulas that align well with HERA experimental data.
Contribution
It introduces simplified formulas for heavy-quark contributions to F2 at small x, improving theoretical predictions and data agreement.
Findings
Formulas agree well with HERA data for F2c
Effective at small Bjorken x values
Enhances understanding of heavy-quark effects in proton structure
Abstract
We study the heavy-quark contributions to the proton structure function F2(x,Q2) at next-to-leading order using compact formulas at small values of Bjorken's x variable. The formulas provide a good agreement with the modern HERA data for F2c(x,Q2).
