Family symmetries and alignment in multi-Higgs doublet models
Ivo de Medeiros Varzielas

TL;DR
This paper explores how family symmetries can justify Yukawa alignment in multi-Higgs doublet models, which suppresses flavor-changing neutral currents at tree level.
Contribution
It demonstrates that family symmetries can naturally lead to Yukawa alignment, offering a theoretical basis for flavor suppression in multi-Higgs models.
Findings
Family symmetries can enforce Yukawa alignment.
Yukawa alignment suppresses tree-level flavor-changing neutral currents.
The approach provides a symmetry-based justification for alignment.
Abstract
The exact alignment of the Yukawa structures on multi-Higgs doublet models provides cancellation of tree-level flavour changing couplings of neutral scalar fields. We show that family symmetries can provide a suitable justification for the Yukawa alignment.
