C.A. Ballon Bayona, Kasper Peeters, Marija Zamaklar

TL;DR
This paper investigates the instability of the low-temperature QCD vacuum with an axial chemical potential using the Sakai-Sugimoto holographic model, revealing a non-homogeneous ground state.
Contribution
It explicitly constructs a translationally non-invariant ground state of the theory, demonstrating a novel phase at large-N_c under axial chemical potential.
Findings
Identifies instability of the homogeneous vacuum at large-N_c.
Constructs a non-homogeneous ground state solution.
Shows phase transition to a non-uniform configuration.
Abstract
We study the instability of the low-temperature QCD vacuum at large-N_c due to an axial chemical potential, using the holographic Sakai-Sugimoto model. We explicitly construct the ground state of the theory, which corresponds to a translationally non-invariant configuration.
