Sagar Biswas, and Kamal L. Panigrahi

TL;DR
This paper investigates rigidly rotating strings in the near horizon geometry of NS5-branes, deriving solutions that include magnon and spike-like configurations by solving the Nambu-Goto action with a background B-field.
Contribution
It provides new explicit solutions for rotating strings in NS5-brane backgrounds, including limiting cases related to magnon and spike configurations.
Findings
Derived solutions for rotating strings in NS5-brane backgrounds
Identified limiting cases corresponding to magnon and spike solutions
Enhanced understanding of string dynamics in NS5-brane geometries
Abstract
We study rigidly rotating strings in the near horizon geometry of a stack of Neveu-Schwarz (NS) 5-branes. We solve the Nambu-Goto action of the fundamental string in the presence of a NS-NS two form and find out limiting cases corresponding to magnon and spike like solutions.
