TL;DR
This paper examines various methods for incorporating target mass effects into the extraction of parton distributions, highlighting the unresolved challenge of defining these distributions when mass effects are considered.
Contribution
It identifies the open problem of defining parton distributions with target mass effects, emphasizing the need for further theoretical development.
Findings

Target mass inclusion remains an unresolved issue
Highlights the need for a consistent definition of parton distributions with mass
Abstract
We analyze different prescriptions for the inclusion of target mass effects in the extraction of parton distributions from the measured structure functions. As a main result, the problem of defining parton distributions in the presence of mass is an open problem.
