TL;DR
This paper provides a simplified proof of the degree formula for the Euler characteristic, removing previous restrictions on the base field's characteristic.
Contribution
It offers a more straightforward proof of Zainoulline's degree formula, eliminating all characteristic restrictions on the base field.
Findings
Simplified proof of the degree formula for Euler characteristic
Removal of restrictions on the base field's characteristic
Enhanced understanding of the formula's applicability
Abstract
We give a proof of the degree formula for the Euler characteristic previously obtained by Kirill Zainoulline. The arguments used here are considerably simpler, and allow us to remove all restrictions on the characteristic of the base field.
