I.P.Lokhtin, A.V.Belyaev, A.M.Snigirev

TL;DR
This paper analyzes LHC PbPb collision data using the PYQUEN jet quenching model, showing evidence of wide-angular medium-induced partonic energy loss in central collisions.
Contribution
It applies the PYQUEN model to LHC data, providing insights into the jet quenching pattern and energy loss mechanisms at high energies.
Findings
Nuclear modification factor indicates significant jet suppression.
Dijet energy imbalance supports wide-angular energy loss.
Results align with medium-induced partonic energy loss theories.
Abstract
The first LHC data on high transverse momentum hadron and dijet spectra in PbPb collisions at center-of-mass energy 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair are analyzed in the frameworks of PYQUEN jet quenching model. The presented studies for the nuclear modification factor of high-pT hadrons and the imbalance in dijet transverse energy support the supposition that the intensive wide-angular ("out-of-cone") medium-induced partonic energy loss is seen in central PbPb collisions at the LHC.
