TL;DR
This paper enhances the search for light charged Higgs bosons in top quark decays at the LHC by leveraging tau polarization and multivariate techniques to improve discrimination against background.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis method combining tau polarization variables with boosted decision trees to increase sensitivity to charged Higgs signals in top decays.
Findings
Improved sensitivity to charged Higgs masses up to 150 GeV.
Effective discrimination between signal and background using tau polarization variables.
Enhanced analysis techniques with BDT and BDTD classifiers.
Abstract
We present an analysis with improved sensitivity to the light charged Higgs () searches in the top quark decays in the and single production processes at the LHC. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), one anticipates the branching ratio over almost the entire allowed range. Noting that the arising from the decay are predominantly right-polarized, as opposed to the from the dominant background , which are left-polarized, a number of discriminators have been proposed and studied in the literature. We consider hadronic decays of the , concentrating on the dominant one-prong decay channel .…
