Comments on "Limits on possible new nucleon monopole-dipole interactions from the spin relaxation rate of polarized $^3$He gas"
A.K. Petukhov, G. Pignol, R. Golub

TL;DR
This paper critiques a previous study on constraining nucleon monopole-dipole interactions using polarized helium-3 gas, showing that the original sensitivity estimates were overstated and providing corrected limits.
Contribution
It offers a revised analysis that corrects the overestimated sensitivity in prior limits on axion-like interactions derived from helium-3 spin relaxation data.
Findings
Original sensitivity estimates were overstated.
Corrected limits are less restrictive than previously claimed.
Highlights importance of accurate theoretical treatment in experimental constraints.
Abstract
In the article "Limits on possible new nucleon monopole-dipole interactions from the spin relaxation rate of polarized He gas", new limits on short-range, Axion-like interactions are presented. In this comment it is shown that the theoretical treatement of the data overestimates the sensitivity of the proposed method. We provide the corrected limits.
