Soft ridge in proton-proton collisions
M.Yu. Azarkin, I.M. Dremin, A.V. Leonidov

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that a soft production mechanism based on Lund hadronic strings can produce angular correlations resembling the ridge observed in high-energy proton-proton collisions at the LHC.
Contribution
It introduces a soft mechanism model that reproduces the ridge structure in pp collisions, providing an alternative explanation to more complex theories.
Findings
Reproduces ridge-like angular correlations in pp collisions
Supports soft string mechanisms as a source of collective effects
Matches experimental data at 7 TeV LHC energies
Abstract
It is shown that the soft mechanism of multiparticle production by Lund hadronic strings formed by colliding constituent degrees of freedom generates a shape of angular correlations similar to the ridge structure observed in the pp collisions at 7 TeV at the LHC.
