Reduced-Complexity Collaborative Decoding of Interleaved Reed-Solomon and Gabidulin Codes
Hans Kurzweil, Mathis Seidl, Johannes B. Huber

TL;DR
This paper proposes a new low-complexity collaborative decoding method for interleaved Reed-Solomon and Gabidulin codes, demonstrating its effectiveness through simulations of a concatenated scheme with polar codes.
Contribution
It introduces an alternative, reduced-complexity decoding approach for high interleaving degree codes, extending decoding techniques to Gabidulin codes.
Findings
Effective decoding at high interleaving degrees
Simulation results show improved performance in concatenated schemes
Applicable to both Reed-Solomon and Gabidulin codes
Abstract
An alternative method for collaborative decoding of interleaved Reed-Solomon codes as well as Gabidulin codes for the case of high interleaving degree is proposed. As an example of application, simulation results are presented for a concatenated coding scheme using polar codes as inner codes.
