This paper introduces a new classification of periods based on their degree, providing fresh insights into problems in transcendental number theory.
Contribution
It proposes the concept of degree for periods, offering a novel framework to analyze their properties and implications in transcendental number theory.
Findings
New understanding of periods through degree classification
Insights into transcendental number theory problems
Potential for further research in period analysis
Abstract
We introduce the concept of degree to classify the periods in the sense of Kontsevich. Using this notion we give some new understanding of some problems in transcendental number theory.
