TL;DR
This paper extends a classical method for calculating growth series from context-free languages to the broader class of indexed languages, demonstrating its effectiveness through various examples.
Contribution
It introduces an extension of the Chomsky/Schützenberger method to indexed languages, expanding its applicability beyond unambiguous context-free languages.
Findings
Successfully computes growth series for indexed languages
Demonstrates the method with multiple illustrative examples
Shows the broader applicability of the extended technique
Abstract
We extend the Chomsky/Sch\"utzenberger method of computing the growth series of an unambiguous context-free language to the larger class of indexed languages. We illustrate the technique with numerous examples.
