TL;DR
This paper investigates double J/psi-meson production at the LHC, providing theoretical cross-section predictions and exploring the potential observation of novel tetraquark states composed of four c-quarks.
Contribution
It offers new theoretical estimates for J/psi production cross sections and assesses the experimental detectability of tetraquark states at the LHC.
Findings
Predicted cross sections for pp -> 2J/psi+X at 7 TeV.
Estimated the possibility of observing tensor tetraquark mesons.
Provided kinematic restrictions for experimental searches.
Abstract
The article is devoted to double J/psi-meson production at LHC. Theoretical predictions for pp -> 2J/psi+X cross section at sqrt{s}=7 TeV for different kinematical restrictions are presented. Special attention is payed to possible contribution of novel particles -- tetraquarks build from four c-quarks. According to presented in our article estimates, it is quietly possible to observe at least one of these state (tensor meson) experimentally.
