TL;DR
This paper discusses the non-uniqueness of covariant star products in deformation quantization and presents a covariant approach to resolve this issue, with implications for noncommutative gravity.
Contribution
It introduces a covariant method to address the non-uniqueness problem of star products in deformation quantization.
Findings
A covariant resolution to star product non-uniqueness
Implications for noncommutative gravity discussed
Potential for further developments in deformation quantization
Abstract
We give a nontechnical introduction to the problem of non-uniqueness of star products and describe a covariant resolution of this problem. Some implications (e.g., for noncommutative gravity) and further prospects are discussed.
