Contribution
It provides a comprehensive overview of noncommutative field theories, connecting theoretical foundations with recent developments and applications across physics.
Findings
Noncommutative field theories have significant implications in string theory.
Potential experimental signatures of noncommutative effects are discussed.
Applications in gravity and emergent gravity are explored.
Abstract
We present a brief review of selected topics in noncommutative field theories ranging from its revival in string theory, its influence on quantum field theories, its possible experimental signatures and ending with some applications in gravity and emergent gravity.
