Upper Limit on the Diffuse $\nu_\mu$ Flux with the ANTARES Telescope
Simone Biagi

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for high-energy cosmic muon neutrinos using the ANTARES telescope, setting an upper limit on the diffuse neutrino flux in the TeV to PeV energy range based on 334 days of data.
Contribution
The study provides the first upper limit on the diffuse muon neutrino flux from unresolved sources using ANTARES data in the specified energy range.
Findings
Observed events are consistent with background expectations.
Set a 90% confidence level upper limit on the muon neutrino flux.
Flux limit is $5.3 imes 10^{-8} ext{GeV cm}^{-2} ext{s}^{-1} ext{sr}^{-1}$ in 20 TeV to 2.5 PeV range.
Abstract
A search for very-high energy cosmic muon neutrinos from unresolved sources is presented using data collected by the ANTARES neutrino telescope. Data corresponding to 334 days of equivalent live time show that the observed number of events is compatible with the expected number of background events. A 90% c.l. upper limit on the diffuse flux is set at E^2\Phi_{90%} = 5.3 \times 10^{-8} \ \mathrm{GeV\ cm^{-2}\ s^{-1}\ sr^{-1}} in the energy range 20 TeV -- 2.5 PeV.
