TL;DR
This paper demonstrates the fabrication and testing of a Luneburg lens in silicon photonics, showcasing a versatile technique for creating perfect imaging devices on silicon platforms.
Contribution
It introduces a novel fabrication method for implementing a Luneburg lens in silicon photonics, enabling aberration-free, omnidirectional light focusing on silicon chips.
Findings
Successful fabrication and testing of a silicon Luneburg lens
Versatile technique applicable to silicon photonics platforms
Potential for high-quality imaging devices on silicon
Abstract
The Luneburg lens is an aberration-free lens that focuses light from all directions equally well. We fabricated and tested a Luneburg lens in silicon photonics. Our technique is sufficiently versatile for making perfect imaging devices on silicon platforms.
