Measurement of the weak phase alpha from B0 --> a_1(1260)+- pi-+ decays
Simone Stracka (for the BABAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports a measurement of the weak phase alpha using time-dependent CP asymmetries in B0 decays to a_1(1260) pi, accounting for penguin contributions via SU(3) analysis, advancing understanding of CP violation.
Contribution
It provides the first measurement of alpha from B0 --> a_1(1260) pi decays with penguin contribution estimation using SU(3) symmetry.
Findings
Measured weak phase alpha with CP asymmetries.
Estimated penguin pollution using SU(3) analysis.
Contributes to understanding of CP violation in B decays.
Abstract
We present the measurement, performed by the BABAR Collaboration, of the weak phase alpha from the time dependent CP asymmetries in B0--> a_1(1260)+- pi-+ decays. The model error induced by penguin contributions to the B0 --> a_1(1260)+- pi-+ channel is estimated from an SU(3) analysis of the branching fractions of B--> a_1(1260) K, B--> K_1(1270) pi, and B--> K_1(1400) pi decays.
