R.C. Fonseca, F.A. Brito, L. Losano

TL;DR
This paper analyzes how gravity behaves near an asymmetric BPS brane in a 5D AdS-Minkowski space, showing that 4D gravity emerges at intermediate scales with small corrections, and transitions to 5D gravity at larger distances.
Contribution
It provides an analytical calculation of gravitational corrections and demonstrates the metastability of 4D gravity on an asymmetric BPS brane in a 5D supergravity setting.
Findings
Identifies a crossover scale where 4D gravity transitions to 5D gravity.
Calculates the correction to gravitational potential at small and long distances.
Shows that gravity on the brane is metastable and predominantly 4D at intermediate scales.
Abstract
We calculate small correction terms to gravitational potential near an asymmetric BPS brane embedded in a 5D AdS-Minkowski space in the context of supergravity. The normalizable wave functions of gravity fluctuations around the brane describe only massive modes. We compute such wave functions analytically in the thin wall limit. We estimate the correction to gravitational potential for small and long distances, and show that there is an intermediate range of distances in which we can identify 4D gravity on the brane below a crossover scale. The 4D gravity is metastable and for distances much larger than the crossover scale the 5D gravity is recovered.
