TL;DR
This paper formulates five-dimensional maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in light-cone superspace, demonstrating the vanishing of three-point counterterms on-shell, as a step towards analyzing higher-order counterterms.
Contribution
It introduces a light-cone superspace formulation of 5D maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills, extending the 4D N=4 theory and analyzing counterterms.
Findings
Three-point counterterms vanish on-shell.
The theory is an oxidation of 4D N=4 Super Yang-Mills.
Framework set up for studying four-point counterterms.
Abstract
We formulate maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in five dimensions in light-cone superspace. The light-cone Hamiltonian is of the quadratic form and the theory can be understood as an oxidation of the N=4 Super Yang-Mills Theory in four dimensions. We specifically study three-point counterterms and show how these counterterms vanish on-shell. This study is a preliminary to set up the technique in order to study possible four-point counterterms.
